Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a night-shift traveler assignment. External candidates only, with 8, 13, or 26-week lengths and renewal opportunities based on program limits.

The role requires pediatric respiratory care experience, NBRC-RRT credential, NC license, and BLS/PALS certifications. NICU/PCICU/PICU experience highly preferred for this pediatric-focused assignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Pediatric respiratory care experience required for pediatric assignment.
• North Carolina respiratory care license and NBRC RRT credential.
• BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP may be required by area.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat pediatric patients per care plans and orders.
• Administer oxygen, aerosols, airway clearance, and other therapies.
• Manage invasive/non-invasive ventilation and monitor responses.
• Perform suctioning, ABG collection, and CPR as needed.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate with the care team.
