Job summary

Medical City Denton is seeking a Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse for a part-time night shift (7pm–7am) with rotating weekends. The RN will coordinate high-quality, patient-centered care, perform pre/post-operative nursing tasks, and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

Requirements include 1+ year PCU RN experience, ACLS and BLS within 30 days, an RN license with an Associate Degree (BSN preferred with magnet hospital experience).

Qualifications

• 1+ year(s) experience in PCU as an RN
• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date
• RN with Associate Degree; BSN required with 12 months enrollment and 24 months completion (magnet hospital)
• Experience with stepdown patients including CVA, CIWA, trach, PEG tube care, heparin drips, Cardene drips

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes
• Perform procedures or functions as ordered by medical provider
• Document administration of care in the patient record in a timely, thorough manner
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response
• Maintain knowledge of meds, procedures and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients
