Job summary

Medical City Denton is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This part-time night shift (7pm–7am) includes rotating weekends. The RN coordinates pre- and post-operative care and advocates for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

Qualifications include 1+ year PCU RN experience, ACLS/BLS within 30 days, RN licensure, and BSN or magnet-status enrollment/completion. Prior stepdown patient experience (CVA, CIWA, trach, PEG) is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ year PCU RN experience.
• ACLS within 30 days of start date.
• BLS within 30 days of start date.
• RN licensed with appropriate credentials.
• BSN or enrollment with magnet program requirements.
• Experience with stepdown patients (CVA, CIWA, trach, PEG, heparin infusions, Cardene).

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; report changes.
• Perform procedures as ordered by medical providers.
• Document care in the patient record promptly and accurately.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Maintain knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical care tools and protocols.
