Job summary

Temple Health – Temple University Health System is seeking a part-time Nursing Aide to Support patient care during night shifts at our Philadelphia campus. The role involves close guidance from registered nurses and participation in tasks ranging from vital signs to basic procedures, with emphasis on comfort, safety and daily living activities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, completion of an approved nursing aide or related training program, and a current Basic Life Support

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Completion of Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program, EMT training program or Nursing student with satisfactory completion of Nursing 101 clinical or equivalent clinical rotation is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the registered nurse. Executes components of the care plan through procedures related to basic human, mental health and social needs; comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care; nutrition and fluid needs; and elimination needs. Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, capillary blood glucose testing, and Unit Secretary, Patient Transport, and Environment of Care duties.
