Job summary

Temple University Hospital, part of Temple Health, is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant for a full-time night shift (11p-7a) with every-other weekend and holidays as required. The role includes direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, vital signs, ECGs, and basic care activities, with required BLS certification.

Education includes a High School Diploma or Equivalent; an Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program, or clinical rotation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program preferred.
• Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Implements components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
• Provides comfort, safety and emergency measures; assists with activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose monitoring as needed.
• Observes equipment and reports changes in patient condition and treatment results.
• Adheres to the Hospital Customer Service Program and confidentiality practices.
