Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the 20-bed Neuro/Trauma PCU, working the night shift with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

You will provide basic nursing care, assist with activities of daily living, document observations, and help coordinate patient flow using unit software. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates who meet guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: If employee is working in a critical access facility, a Certified Nursing Assistant is required.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing care and performs technical skills for specified age groups according to established standards.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Documents and reports patient observations to licensed staff.
• Transports patients, supplies, specimens, equipment, etc. within the facility.
• Leads streamlined, timely and comprehensive admission, transfer, and discharge processes keeping the patient experience as the top focus.
