Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks a Lead Patient Care Technician for the 8 Mountain PCU. This full-time role supports nursing teams, leads unit huddles, coordinates admissions and discharges, and helps ensure patient safety and quality care during Evening/Night shifts.

The position requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of direct patient care experience, and CNA with AHA BLS-HCP within 6 months. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates, reflecting the unit's commitment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 to 2 years' experience in direct patient care.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred in some facilities; AHA BLS-HCP required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Lead unit huddle and participate in governance/committees.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize patient flow.
• Document and report patient observations in the EMR and assist with chart audits.
• Support safety, cleanliness, and patient confidentiality on the unit.
