Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Neuro/Stroke Medicine Unit 2 East is hiring a Patient Care Technician to join our 21-bed med/surg/stroke unit. This full-time night shift (approximately 7pm to 7am) role supports nursing care and patient flow, including admissions and discharges.

The ideal candidate holds a High School Diploma or equivalent and may have CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related certifications; BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• One year of prior health care experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• American Health Associate BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Certification options include CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or military/neuro-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes and document patient changes.
• Monitor patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse.
