Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for the Surgical & Orthopedic Unit. This full-time night-shift role offers a 36-hour week with a sign-on bonus and opportunities for advancement within a high-energy Med/Surg team.

Under supervision of an RN or LPN, the PCA provides hands-on patient care, assists with meals, hygiene, and mobility, and supports clerical tasks. Training includes an accredited PCA program and a 175-hour program to meet standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/CPTC certification, enrollment in a healthcare career program, or current Mercy co-worker preferred.
• No prior experience required – we will train you!
• BLS Certification: Required within 1 month of hire

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs in the electronic medical record
• Assist patients with meals, hygiene, toileting, ambulation, and transport
• Provide clerical support as needed
• Phlebotomy and blood cultures
• Enteral feedings
• Wound care
• IV/Foley removal
• Tracheostomy care and suctioning
