Job summary

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a Hospital Attendant-Patient Transporter for the full-time night shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM). The role focuses on moving patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens across the hospital with courteous service.

Candidates should be able to perform medium to heavy physical work; high school diploma preferred; prior hospital experience helpful. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Preferred: High School Diploma and previous hospital experience and/or patient population experience.
• Excellent intrapersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, equipment, and specimens to areas of the hospital promptly and courteously.
• Locate equipment during retrieval runs to replenish inventory.
• Transport the deceased to the hospital morgue and wash equipment as needed.
• Monitor dispatch by answering phones, logging calls, and dispatching personnel.
• Perform daily runs for delivery of reports, supplies, and Medical Records.
• Ensure services are performed efficiently and address service issues promptly.
