Job summary

MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center is seeking a Part-time Patient Logistics RN/EMT/Paramedic for night shifts. The role coordinates complex patient transfers, assesses acuity, and serves as the clinical hub among referring providers, receiving teams, transport, and families to ensure timely, safe care.

Qualifications

• Paramedic license with PM in IA or IL required at hire or within 120 days.
• Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience.
• Ability to coordinate inter-facility transfers and bed management.
• Knowledge of EMTALA and transfer-related standards.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and coordinate patient transfers between facilities, departments, or units.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, and staff at sending/receiving sites.
• Coordinate ground and air transport when necessary.
• Monitor bed availability and collaborate with bed management.
• Serve as a clinical resource for transfer-related questions.
• Document transfer information in EHRs and transfer systems.
• Participate in quality improvement related to transfer processes.
