Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS-HCP certification on hire or within 60 days with approval.
• Experience in hospital patient care environments is a plus.
• Ability to follow infection control policies and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous line of sight of the patient at all times.
• Observe patient during meals and assist as needed.
• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the patient’s room.
• Accompany patient to tests or procedures and stay with them.
• Report changes in patient status to the nurse promptly.
• Document patient information during hand-offs with nursing present.
• Notify nurse of any self-harm or intent to leave AMA.
• Coordinate with team to ensure patient is not left alone.
• Listen to patient concerns and encourage discussion with clinician.
• Follow infection control policies and complete safety checklists.
