Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking Patient Safety Attendants to support nurses and maintain a safe patient environment. The role requires close patient supervision, adherence to safety protocols, and clear communication with nursing staff.

Responsibilities include remaining at arm's length from patients, reporting any concerns, and assisting with basic patient care under RN supervision. A high school diploma or GED is required, with knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stays within arm's length of the patient at all times.
• Notifies the nurse before leaving the bedside.
• Completes the Close Observation Record or Intensive Observation Record.
• Keeps bed rails in the position directed by the nurse.
• Keeps the bed in the lowest possible position.
• Keeps call bell within reach to call for assistance.
