Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician / Health Unit Coordinator for night shifts at our Temple facility. The role combines patient care with clerical duties under licensed nursing supervision, across multiple units including ICU and Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities include data collection, vital signs, specimen transport, ADL assistance, and maintaining accurate records. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
• Less than 1 year of experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record patient data and vital signs.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Perform routine urinary catheter care and specimen transport.
• Maintain patient records and unit supplies.
• Answer calls, respond to patient needs, and support nursing staff.
• Provide clerical and health unit coordination duties as directed.
