Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the 7pm–7am night shift on the Surgery Unit. You will support nursing staff with patient care, admissions and discharge tasks, and safety practices in a busy orthopedic/spine environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS within 90 days, and one of several approved certifications or clinical program enrollments. Two years of healthcare exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Must have one of the listed certifications or program completions (e.g., CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT, or clinical program enrollment).
• Experience: One year of health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
• Comply with patient safety practices and nursing care delegated by the nurse.
