Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician on the 7th Floor Med/Surg for full-time night shifts. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with basic nursing care, hygiene, ADLs, mobility and ensuring a safe, clean environment.

Duties include correctly identifying patients, reporting changes to the care team, monitoring intake/output and vital signs, assisting with bathing, grooming, positioning and toileting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required by end of probation.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patients correctly before interventions or care.
• Reports changes to the primary caregiver.
• Observes, documents and reports intake/output, vital signs and weights.
• Provides bathing, oral and hair care, bed making, ambulation and positioning, and toileting.
• Performs other duties as required.
