Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for IMCU, part-time night shift in Laporte, IN. The role supports nursing staff, assists with daily living activities, and helps maintain a safe, organized care environment under RN/LPN supervision.

Responsibilities include measuring and recording vital signs, assisting with meals and mobility, handling samples and basic patient care tasks, and promoting effective teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• CNA certification preferred or you are currently enrolled in a nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Record and report vital signs and patient data to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Collect specimens and perform glucose monitoring as directed.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team and follow safety protocols.
• Maintain infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
• Participate in performance improvement and risk management activities.
• May provide continuous observation of patients as required.
• Perform other duties and maintain regular attendance.
