Job summary

The University of Toledo Health Science Campus seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the Intermediate Care Unit. The role follows RN direction and collaborates with the nursing leadership to provide patient care within delegated duties.

Candidates must be high school graduates, complete the UTMC Healthcare Tech training, and maintain CPR/BLS certification. Weekend and holiday work is required; rotating shifts may occur.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Complete UTMC Healthcare Tech training and maintain CPR/BLS certification thereafter.
• If CNA/STNA certified or nursing graduate, may waive training.
• Ability to write legibly, speak articulately, and follow directions.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays; rotating shifts possible.
• Physical requirements including vision, hearing, dexterity and CPR capability.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN and healthcare team to meet patient needs within delegated scope.
• Follow directions from RN, Lead/Charge Nurse, Nursing Director and House Supervisor.
• Perform delegated duties per established methods and procedures.
