Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Technician-PCT at Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO. Under supervision, you will assist in individualized patient care and perform clinical and non-clinical tasks as part of a collaborative team.

The position offers 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts, and Mercy’s strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, tuition support, and retirement matching.

Qualifications

• Experience: None required; if no experience, will be considered for PCA with 175-hour training program within 90 days.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or previous patient care experience (PCA, CNA, or nursing student).
• Required Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., CNA/CPCT or enrolled in healthcare program; age 18+ and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training.
• Certifications: BLS required within one month of hire; PCT competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: CNA, EMT, AUA (state), CPCT.
• Physical requirements: able to push/pull 50 pounds; stand/walk long shifts; reach/bend/kneel/twist/squat

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN or LPN supervision.
• Work cooperatively with team to achieve patient care goals.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks essential to patient care.
