Job summary

Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Med/Surg unit. You will perform bedside care, monitor vital signs, assist with hygiene, mobility, and routine procedures under RN supervision.

You will develop multi-skills including phlebotomy and EKGs, manage patient equipment, and support team in delivering safe, compassionate care. Night shift, every other weekend and holidays required.

Qualifications

• This position is part of a career ladder with levels I–IV.
• Level II requires at least one year of patient care experience.
• Level III requires 3+ years of patient care experience or Level II PCT at Baystate Health; CNA preferred.
• Level IV requires 4+ years of acute or specialty care experience or Level III PCT at Baystate Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care.
• Monitor vital signs and document accurately.
• Assist with hygiene, mobility, and daily activities.
• Support phlebotomy and EKG procedures.
• Prepare and assist with treatments per unit procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the nursing team and patients.
