Baystate Health seeks a Patient Care Technician in Springfield, MA to support the South Wing 6 General Surgery unit at Baystate Medical Center. The role supports daily living activities, monitors vitals, assists with treatments, and provides one-to-one observation as needed.

You will work nights on a part-time schedule (24 hours per week) in a fast-paced surgical setting, collaborating with nurses and physicians to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Competenze

• High School diploma or GED.
• BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association.

Mansioni

• Provided safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, elimination, and personal care while promoting patient dignity and safety.
• Monitored and accurately documented vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other physiological parameters; promptly reported significant changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assisted with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Provided one-to-one patient observation as needed, recognized changes in patient condition or safety concerns, and responded appropriately to emergency situations.
• Collaborated effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and patient-centered care.
