Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the interprofessional team and patients, ensuring compassionate care and a safe clinical environment. You will participate in direct and indirect care, respond to patient needs, and help maintain supplies on the unit.

Role involves collaborating with licensed clinicians, communicating effectively with patients and families, and utilizing technology for virtual assessments when required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year nursing assistant or healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Knowledge of safety and reducing patient risks.
• Understanding of communicating respectfully with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment and assists with supplies and equipment.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs, and responds to call lights.
• May assist with virtual safety and clinical exams using required tech in some cases.
