Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA seeks a Patient Care Technician to support RNs with vital signs, mobility, and daily personal care. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming environment and assist with patient comfort while upholding infection control and safety practices.

Responsibilities include assisting with transfers, dressing changes, keeping areas clean and stocked, and communicating with patients and families. The role is full-time nights with rotating weekends; no travel required.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
