Job summary

Sentara Health in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the FT Night Shift (three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays). This unlicensed role works under the supervision of a registered nurse to deliver delegated nursing care and support patient safety.

You will observe patients, assist with admissions and discharges, and help maintain comfort and documentation. A HS Diploma and CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent training is required, with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a HS Diploma and one of the following: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
• Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT and Paramedic
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a RN, LPN, RT or PT
• Current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse.
• Assist with admissions and discharges and support patient safety.
• Observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to nurse.
