Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines is hiring a Patient Care Tech to support clinical staff with direct patient care during 12-hour night shifts. The role involves preparing patients, assisting with ADLs, performing vital signs, and helping with studies and tests as assigned.

You will work with RN/LPN staff, participate in safety practices, document in patient records, and contribute to a compassionate, patient-centered care environment at MercyOne Health System.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age.
• Mandatory Reporter – child and/or dependent adult abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certified within 6 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care and treatment as delegated by an RN or LPN.
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient comfort.
• Responds to patient calls and anticipates patient needs.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the nurse.
• Records patient information in health records per policy.
