Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Patient Care Tech/Nursing Assistant for Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. You will provide nursing care, assist with activities of daily living, and help with admissions and patient flow.

The role requires basic patient care skills, strong communication, and teamwork. CNA preferred; BLS within 6 months of hire is expected. Sign-on bonus eligible and health system benefits available.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Licensure/certification: Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; if in a critical access facility, CNA required.
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP within 6 months of hire.
• Other: Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care including taking blood pressure, oxygen, and temperature, and assisting with activities of daily living.
• Transport patients, supplies, specimens, and equipment within the facility.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes and coordinate patient flow.
• Document observations and report to licensed staff; support with EMR and chart audits.
• Maintain unit cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
