Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the 10 West Unit in Roanoke on a full-time day/evening schedule. You will provide nursing care, including vitals, bathing, meals, and assistance with activities of daily living.

The role supports patient flow and safety, with mandatory orientation classes in the first two weeks. The position may include one-on-one care for patients with suicide or safety precautions and offers a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Previous experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; if employee is in a critical access facility, CNA is required.
• AHA BLS-HCP required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care including vitals such as blood pressure, oxygen levels, and temperature.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Transports patients, supplies, and equipment within the facility.
• Support unit operations and patient flow, including admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safe, clean care environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certified Nursing Assistant (preferred)

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP within 6 months of hire
