Job summary

Trinity Health Oakland Hospital is seeking a Patient Support Technician for the 12-hour night shift (7pm–7:30am) with every third weekend coverage. You will provide direct patient care under the guidance of the registered nurse, assist with admissions, meds prep, vital signs, and documentation while maintaining unit flow and patient safety.

The role emphasizes relationship-based care, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to Trinity Health values.

Qualifications

• 6 months direct patient care experience within past 5 years.
• Completion of Medical/Surgical clinical rotation in a nursing program.
• Completion of a "Patient Care Technician" program with externship in an acute care facility.
• Previous Health Unit Coordinator/Unit Secretary experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with admission, charting and patient education as needed.
• Maintain patient records and unit census; communicate with physicians and departments.
• Maintain basic bedside care including vitals, procedures and safety measures.
• Support unit-based governance and quality initiatives.
• Ensure proper body mechanics and safety for self and patients.
