Job summary

Providence Seaside Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Medical Surgical Unit. This .9 FTE night shift position runs 7pm–7:30am, with three 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends.

The role supports the RN with admissions, discharges, transfers, and routine bedside care, including vital signs, specimen collection, and mobility assistance. We offer comprehensive benefits, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, retirement options, and caregiver support programs.

Qualifications

• National Provider BLS certification required at hire.
• Medical Terminology course or hospital terminology test within 90 days of hire.
• 6 months healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a high functioning team.
• Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights.
• Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests.
• Assist with client mobility and transfers using lifts and safe patient handling devices.
• Opportunities for continuing education and professional development.
• Other duties as assigned.
