Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia, is seeking a dedicated nursing support professional to join the team on a night shift. You will assist the RN with admissions, transfers and daily patient care, while monitoring vitals and maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and patient comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicates nutrition-related issues to RN.
• Assists department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
