Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to provide essential patient care and comfort under RN supervision during night shifts. The role supports nursing staff in personal care, vital signs documentation, and patient safety, with emphasis on a clean, safe, and respectful environment.

The position requires completion of a nursing assistant program, HS diploma or GED, and timely certification in CPI and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a nursing assistant program is required.
• CPI Certification within 90 days of hire and BLS certification within 60 days are required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision and guidance of a RN, documents vital signs, intake and output, and reports deviations to the nurse in a timely manner.
• Assists with personal hygiene, prepares units and beds for admissions, transfers and discharges as needed.
• Performs care activities for patients including ostomy, diabetic, skin integrity, bariatric and peri care as required by the shift.
• Maintains a clean, organized work area; ensures equipment is in working condition and reports problems to the charge nurse.
