Job summary

Temple University Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department at Jeanes Campus. The 36-hour night shift (7pm–7:30am) supports registered nurses by performing direct and indirect patient care, vital signs monitoring, and basic clinical procedures in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities include ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, capillary glucose testing, and assisting with Unit Secretary work, patient transport, and Environment of Care tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant training and competency evaluation required; EMT training or nursing student with clinical rotation acceptable.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the registered nurse.
• Measure vital signs and perform basic clinical procedures as part of the care plan.
• Perform ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, and capillary glucose testing.
• Assist with Unit Secretary tasks, patient transport, and Environment of Care duties.
