Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide designated patient care activities under the supervision of the licensed clinical team. The role emphasizes a respectful, diverse patient population and active participation in safety and efficiency on the unit.

The PCT will communicate with the interprofessional team, patients, families and care partners. Responsibilities include direct/indirect care, rounds, and potential virtual safety or telehealth support as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care within an interprofessional team.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Understanding of patient safety risks and respect for diverse patients.
• BLS and AHA certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under licensed clinicians.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Maintains supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds and responds promptly to call lights.
• May serve as a virtual safety associate or assist with remote clinical exams.
