Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Acute Cardiac / Stroke/Stepdown unit on the night shift (7PM–7AM). You will provide patient care, assist with daily living activities, take vital signs, support mobility, and perform phlebotomy, EKG testing, and specimen collection under the direction of an RN.

Qualified candidates need a HS diploma or equivalent and one of several certifications (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent and one of the listed certifications.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities as needed.
• Observe and document patient condition; monitor vital signs and mobility.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKG testing and IV removal as directed.
• Maintain patient safety and promptly report changes to the RN or medical staff.
