Job summary
Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia, is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Acute Cardiac / Stroke / Stepdown unit on the Day shift (7 AM–7 PM). You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, mobility, and specimen collection under supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Required education includes a HS diploma or equivalent and one of several approved programs (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or Equivalent and one of the listed programs.
- Care Partner CNA NCMA NCPCT or Navy Hospital Corps School.
- EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic or current clinical student with RN/LPN/RT/PT background.
- Recent PCT or Nursing Assistant work experience (last 3 years).
- Basic Life Support Certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
- Record vital signs, mobility, ambulation, and specimen collection.
- Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKGs, and IV removal as needed.
- Assist with Foley catheter insertion/removal and documentation of changes.
