Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to assist the professional caregiver in delivering patient care, transport patients and equipment, and maintain patient rooms.

The role includes clerical tasks, transcription, data entry, and support on the Surgical Observation Unit. It requires a high school diploma and BLS/NC Nursing Assistant I certification, with a night shift schedule and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• Capability to develop computer skills if not competent.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically reviews patient care documentation, notes significant changes, and reports to a nurse or physician.
• Performs clerical tasks including organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information, reviewing orders for logic and clarity, transcribing orders, and maintaining medical records.
