Qualifications

• No formal degree required; basic patient care experience or completion of a formal training program required.
• EKG competencies within six months of hire date.
• Phlebotomy competencies within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates learning needs of patient and family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and resources.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• Precepts students and new hires as needed.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition and referrals.
