Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to perform direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will help with daily living activities, monitor vitals, assist with transport, and ensure a safe, compassionate, family-centered experience.

This role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification within 30 days, and prior patient care preferred. Shift: Night, 24 hours weekly; non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care by providing basic physical care as directed by the RN.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and beds as needed.
• Safely transport patients to tests and procedures and assist with discharge.
• Performs routine phlebotomy services as assigned.
• Record vital signs and intake/output measurements.
• Provide respiratory support and proper oxygen setup.
• Observe and report patient concerns to a registered nurse.
• Assist with examinations and procedures alongside physicians and RNs.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment to prevent infections.
