Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in West Virginia is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role emphasizes safety, comfort, and timely communication with licensed staff.

You will work 36 hours weekly, nights, non-exempt, with education requirements including a high school diploma and BLS within 30 days of hire. Prior patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns to RN immediately.
• Assist the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Record the vital signs, assist in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures.
• Assist in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment to help prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Report necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicate with RN regarding nutrition issues or diet changes.
• Assist department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
