Job summary

Temple University Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the 9B Medical Surgical unit in Philadelphia. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist with daily living activities, and monitor vital signs, ECGs, and glucose.

As a member of the nursing team, you will uphold confidentiality and service standards, completing required on-site certification if not already held. A one-year patient care background is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nursing assistant or medical assistant program preferred; clinical rotation experience useful.
• 1 year experience in a patient care role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
• Measure vital signs, perform ECGs and capillary blood glucose checks.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care needs.
• Observe equipment condition and report changes to the nurse manager.
• adhere to patient confidentiality and hospital service standards.
