Job summary

MemorialCare Health System in Fountain Valley, CA seeks a Patient Care Assistant I to join the Medical department on the night shift. This full‑time role supports basic patient care, data collection, hygiene and daily living activities under RN supervision.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort, maintain privacy, and help with unit flow and documentation while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent Acute Care experience preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or minimum of one (1) year nursing assistant experience or currently enrolled in Nursing Program with successful completion of at least (1) semester preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to safely, timely, and competently perform assigned duties.
• Follows directions and communicates with the Registered Nurse and other members of the Healthcare Team in organized, clear and timely manner.
• Collects and documents information pertinent to the patient’s status in the patient’s electronic medical record and notifies Registered Nurse of changes in patient’s condition
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial and other sensitive and/or confidential material in printed, electronic or verbal form related to all patient and employee privacy.
• Demonstrates the ability to use good customer service skills by managing and acknowledging patient-family-significant other expectations.
• Demonstrates tact, sensitivity and discretion at all times
• Demonstrates the ability to integrate knowledge of job specific competencies, proper use of equipment, and maintain educational competencies and licensure.
• Ability to be at work and be on time
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives
• Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner 11. Ability to prioritize and multitask
