Job summary

MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Observation Unit on the night shift. Under direct supervision of licensed personnel, you will assist with activities of daily living and support unit operations to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• CNA with 3 years in acute care or 5 years in SNF/sub-acute, or nursing students in program.
• CPR & AED certification (American Heart Association) is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities as identified on the nursing competency checklist.
• Recognizes and reports changing patient care needs to the registered nurse.
• Documents findings and maintains privacy in the patient’s medical record.
• Provides emotional and physical comfort to patients and maintains a safe environment.
