Job summary

OhioHealth seeks a Nursing Assistant to support Registered Nurses in a designated nursing unit. You will provide direct patient care on the night shift and assist with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe, clean environment and contributing to a compassionate patient experience.

You will perform basic nursing tasks delegated by the RN, document vitals and observations, and help with supplies, transport, and admissions.

Qualifications

High School or GED
16- and 17-year-old individuals with a valid work permit may be considered
18-year-old individuals enrolled in high school do not need a high school diploma/GED/work permit

Responsibilities

Assist the Registered Nurse with direct patient care on a designated nursing unit
Perform activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, eating, and mobility
Maintain environmental cleanliness and safety of patient rooms, unit and equipment
Support patient experience by developing respectful and compassionate relationships with patients and families
Assist in telemetry monitoring and communicate life-threatening arrhythmias to licensed staff
Handle supplies, medications, and lab specimens transport within the unit
Complete data collection (height, weight, vital signs, intake and output) and document appropriately
Use handheld devices for documentation and report observations to the RN
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
