Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Lansing, MI is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff on 8 E General Surgery during the night shift (7p-7a). You will perform routine patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and handle clerical tasks to ensure smooth unit operation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, Health Unit Coordinator coursework or medical terminology/data entry training, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a health unit coordinator course or coursework in medical terminology and data entry is required.
• BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or MTN is required.
• Specialized education: EMT, medical assistant, or nursing program clinical rotation.
• If specialized education is not met, at least six months nursing assistant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient/resident care such as call light response, ambulating, transferring, positioning, and hygiene assistance.
• Collect, record, and report patient/resident data; report changes in condition.
• Provide general clerical support on the unit: answer phones, data entry, and distribute information.
