Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy medical office. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, injections, venipuncture, phlebotomy, patient intake and discharge, scheduling, and general clerical tasks.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion (or equivalent), a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification. Schedule is full-time, with day hours and no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• BLS certification required before start date and valid for 60 days beyond start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, examinations, injections, venipuncture and phlebotomy.
• Support patient intake, discharge, scheduling and clerical tasks.
• Maintain clean environment and equipment, manage inventories and supplies.
• Accurately document in EMR and communicate confidential patient information.
• Notify physician/manager of situations beyond scope and participate in staff meetings.
