Job summary

Grosse Pointe Hospital, part of Corewell Health, seeks a compassionate CNA observer to join the Staffing Office Float Pool. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will provide patient care, assist with transport, and help with clerical tasks on the unit.

This on-site, night-shift role offers on-demand Pay via Payactiv, free onsite parking, and access to discounts. Prior hospital or nursing home experience is preferred with BLS within 30 days and CNA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Current CNA certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
• Ability to deal with a wide variety of individuals.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care per plan under RN direction.
• Safely transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Provide observer services for constant observation.
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties for the unit.
• Document care in the electronic medical record.
