Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to register patients in outpatient/urgent care settings, verify insurance information, and collect liabilities. The role emphasizes accuracy in data entry, HIPAA compliance, and coordination with financial counseling as needed.

Responsibilities include using multiple software systems, validating information, and ensuring seamless patient experiences.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma; an associate’s degree is preferred.
Data entry speed of 50–60 keystrokes per minute.
Experience in healthcare or payer environments is preferred (1 year).
Fluency with various software programs and multiple systems is expected.
Basic computer skills; working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and verify demographic, financial, and insurance information during registration.
Enter data into the patient accounting system and scan/obtain signatures for forms.
Process signed physician orders and verify insurance eligibility/benefits for designated cases.
Notify patients of liabilities and refer to financial counseling when needed.
Ensure patient safety and authenticating identity throughout registration tasks.
