Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registration Specialist to coordinate patient registration, verify insurance, and schedule appointments across multiple facilities. The role requires strong customer service, accuracy, and the ability to communicate with diverse patients.

Training will be provided and night shifts are available. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, ensuring referrals/authorizations are complete, scanning documents, and determining financial responsibilities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 year of customer service experience; 1 year in a healthcare setting (hospital or physician office).
• Computer and typing proficiency; ability to interact with a diverse patient base, including emergencies.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in healthcare or related field; 2 years registration/insurance verification experience; knowledge of medical terminology; bilingual (Spanish/English); BLS certification as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling.
• Interview patients by phone and in person to collect demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
• Ensure order completeness and accuracy for referrals/authorizations; obtain missing orders as needed.
• Scan and handle patient documentation and signatures for timely reimbursement.
• Determine and communicate patient financial responsibilities; refer to financial counseling as needed.
• Monitor daily schedule for conflicts and coordinate with providers for resolution.
• Maintain compliance with registration accuracy.
