Job summary

Utah Transit Authority is seeking an Inventory Clerk to count, receive, store, issue, and record parts and supplies used in vehicle repair and maintenance. The role requires accurate inventory control, requisitioning, and interdepartmental coordination, with a focus on strong customer service.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, using computer systems and paper/manual processes to ensure accuracy. A forklift certification and reliable attendance are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Requires regular and predictable attendance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years inventory management or shipping/receiving experience.
• Experience with vehicle parts and manuals preferred.
• Customer service experience handling inquiries and problem solving.
• Must communicate effectively with superiors, coworkers, mechanics, vendors, and internal teams.
• Proficiency with computers including Internet, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Count, receive, store, issue, and record inventory transactions.
• Requisition parts and supplies per UTA policies.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and levels; prepare stock orders for interdepartmental shipping.
• Operate equipment to move inventory and participate in inventories.
• Provide excellent customer service in interactions with mechanics, vendors, and UTA personnel.
