Job summary

The Allentown Parking Authority is seeking a dedicated Parking Enforcement Officer to serve the community. This role emphasizes courteous interaction, fair enforcement, and helping the public understand parking regulations while maintaining accessible city parking.

Essential duties include engaging with residents and businesses, issuing citations when necessary, and working under supervision to ensure accurate records and safe operations in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to ride a bicycle and pass a bicycle certification course.
• Must be able to walk 4–8 miles daily, lift up to 35 pounds and operate a vehicle in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador for the Parking Authority with residents, visitors and business owners.
• Educate the public on parking regulations and the reasons behind the rules.
• Monitor areas to enforce regulations and issue citations when needed.
